Got talking about this today while chatting about training teachers in Africa and just had to Google even though I should be thinking about student opinon surveys.
A bit of the talk relates to Tamil speaking children learning how to explore computer based resources on molecular biology! They learned something, but their scores went up with a mediator with no knowledge of the subject who “acted like a granny” i.e. lots of encouraging noises. Further granny power is provided by UK grannies reading stories to children over skype!

Interesting talk — thanks for the link and the article. I’m intrigued by the idea of education as a self-organising system displaying emergence (would that be another way to talk about learning as well?)
